White Paper

In 2024, The LOT Project was invited to help shape long-term, collaborative solutions to homelessness in Anderson. We joined a newly formed Community Task Force made up of nonprofits, city and county officials, and other local leaders committed to addressing this growing issue.

Over the following months, we worked together to research, draft, revise, and now publish the White Paper on Homelessness in Anderson County.

Released today, this White Paper provides:

  • Clear definitions of key terms related to homelessness

  • Data highlighting the rise in homelessness in our community

  • Actionable recommendations for building a coordinated social services system—one capable of helping individuals exit homelessness at the same rate others are entering it

We invite you to read the paper carefully, share it with your networks, and consider how you might be part of the solution.

The Task Force is currently seeking community champions to take ownership of each recommendation. At The LOT Project, we are prayerfully discerning our role in this next chapter as we seek to expand our impact for years to come.

If you have questions, ideas, or would like to partner with us in serving our neighbors experiencing homelessness, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We believe the future of Anderson is bright—and that God will astonish us with His goodness through these efforts. We can’t wait to see what He has in store.
