Restoring Earth, Heart, and Home

Artisan Gardens is a community project which transforms empty lots in the “Alphabet Streets” neighborhood into green spaces, gathering places, and organic flower and vegetable gardens.

How We Grow

We avoid synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. Our produce is grown in raised and in-ground beds that are strengthened by organic compost and topsoil. We practice environmentally friendly gardening practices such as cover crops, crop rotation, mulch layering, and companion planting. We are constantly looking to steward the land in the best way, cultivating the soil and the culture of our environment to produce nutrient dense produce.

community outreach

Every Monday evening, we gather on E Street to host a weekly block party called “Meet You at the Garden” with the children and families, aiming to build community throughout the neighborhood.

On Wednesday evenings, in partnership with the Student Station program at Capstone Church, we provide free tutoring to the children we serve through Meet You at the Garden. This partnership ensures that they have access to academic support, helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom!
